A Day of Learning

First day at the Public Library Management Institute has been an informative and eventful day. I have met some really wonderful people from the "library world", and some I already knew, so it was nice to see them again as well. Lots of networking going on which is always beneficial. I am looking forward to tomorrow.

    I am learning a lot from the networking also. Having people you know to contact that are in similar situations could be a great benefit.

      I find that networking is indeed beneficial because not only does it facilitate sort of a cooperative learning, if you will, but it also allows you to view situations from someone else's point of view that you may not have experienced youself. It can assist you in being better prepared for events that may occur in the future, as well as fostering ideas for changes or improvements you can make in order to be of better service.

    I have to say that the first day was really informative. I am so glad that I am not the only person who is going through some of these things. Very passionate people who love what they do and are not in it for the money.

    I can definately relate to that. Money was never a factor for me because this is what I love to do, and that is something in common we all share as a group. Different people with different personalities who share the same passion for their work. We are learning from the training, and more importantly from each other.
